WPL Auction 2023: Alyssa Healy to Sophie Ecclestone

The first-ever Women’s Premier League is going to happen in India. The IPL is already a huge hit in India and around the world. There are also long hops from WPL. The WPL auction 2023 took place a few days ago. A total of 409 players went under the hammer. For several players, it was the best day, and for some of them, it was not. We have listed the players who got sold in the first-ever auction of the WPL and also listed the players who were unsold for this season.

Among the 409 players, 155 are overseas players. Moreover, the list of overseas players is dominated by England, followed by Australia. 

WPL 2023 Players Sold

A total of 409 players went up for auction. However, out of these players, 246 were Indian.

Furthermore, teams can purchase 15 players, with a maximum of 18 allowed. Furthermore, each time, you can only buy six foreign players. A total of 34 players were listed in this auction, with a starting price of INR 50 lakh. Out of these 34, only 10 were Indians. Furthermore, each team has a maximum budget of INR 12 crore. Smriti Mandhana, India (base price of 50 lakh) was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for 3.4 crore.

Harmanpreet Kaur, India (base price of 50 lakh), was sold to Mumbai Indians for 1.8 crore.

Sophie Devine, of New Zealand (base price of Rs 50 lakh), was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 50 lakh.

Haley Matthews of the West Indies (base price: 40 lakh) was sold to the Mumbai Indians for 40 lakh.

Ashleigh Gardner of Australia was sold to the Gujarat Giants for 3.2 crores (a base price of 50 lakh).

Ellyse Perry from Australia was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for 1.7 crore (a base price of 50 lakh).

Sophie Ecclestone, England (base price of 50 lakh), sold to UP Warriorz for 1.8 crore.

Deepti Sharma, India (base price of 50 lakh), was sold to the UP Warriors for 2.6 crore.

Renuka Singh, India (base price of 50 lakh), sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for 1.5 crore.

Natalie Sciver, England (base price of 50 lakh), sold to Mumbai Indians for 3.2 crore.

Tahlia McGrath, Australia (base price of 40 lakh), sold to UP Warriorz for 1.4 crore.

Beth Mooney, England (base price: 40 lakh), was sold to the Gujarat Giants for 2 crore.

Shabnim Ismail, of South Africa (base price: 40 lakh), was sold to the UP Warriors for 1 crore.

Amelia Kerr of New Zealand (base price Rs. 40 lakh) was purchased by the Mumbai Indians for Rs. 1 crore.

Sophia Dunkley, England (base price of 30 lakh) was sold to the Gujarat Giants for 60 lakh.
